Jack Greenberg fared well in limited experience in 2008. Greenberg batted a stellar .300 with six runs. The Upper St. Clair, Pa. native came to Penn State after playing for a year at Division I Rhode Island. He will be often relied upon for his glove in the infield, as he was sparingly used as a defensive replacement late in games last season.

A reserve infielder this year, has played primarily third base in most of his playing time and also has gone in at first base defensively in a couple of games....Has appeared in 14 games while making four starts, all at third base....Has done well at the plate in limited appearances, going 6-for-20 (.300) and scoring two runs along with a .333 on-base percentage....Started games vs. Cornell (3-16), Lehigh (both games of the 3-23 doubleheader), and Akron (4-15)....Leads the team in pinch hits, going 3-for-4 in pinch-hit appearances.

Saw action in nine games as a true freshman, getting one start....Collected two hits, including a double, and scored three runs in 14 at bats....Had an RBI and drew four walks for a .316 on-base percentage and was perfect in 16 fielding chances.
Upper St. Clair HS
Earned two varsity letters at Upper St. Clair High School in the Pittsburgh suburb of Upper St. Clair, Pa....Was a member of the honor roll and Dean's List....As a junior, hit .375 with 18 RBI and was named All-Section in helping to lead his team to a WPIAL runner-up finish and the PIAA quarterfinals....Hit .402 with four home runs and 31 RBI as a senior and was named All-Section, All-WPIAL and a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Top Ten Prospect as well as a WPIAL All-Star....Team won section championships in both his junior and senior seasons....Also played football and hockey and was named All-WPIAL in hockey as a senior.
