Penn State men¡¯s cross country places sixth at IC4A Championships

STATE COLLEGE, November 23, 2002- The Penn State men¡¯s cross country team placed sixth at the IC4A Championships scoring a total of 179 points. Sophomore Mike Gioia (Blue Point, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Nittany Lions in a time of 25:45.7 for 11th place.

Cornell won the meet with an 81 point finish and William & Mary were second with 109 points. Yale came in at third with 110 points.

Other scorers for the Nittany Lions included senior Josh Loren (Waterford, Pa.) with a time of 26:03.7 for 27th place, sophomore Joel Moceri (Reading, Pa.) placed 33rd in a time 26:10.5 and sophomore Eamon Brazunas (Wayne, Pa.) came in at 49th in a time of 26:28.4.

Freshman Shawn Cavanaugh (Pittsburgh, Pa.) ran a 26:40.5 for 59th place and junior Michael Enwright (Jamison, Pa.) placed 61st in a time of 26:41.3. Sophomore Tim Walker (Hopewell Junction, Pa.) placed 73rd with a time of 26:53.5.

Also running for Penn State were senior Steve Holmes (Waynesboro, Pa.) in a time of 26:56.8, junior Chris Pruitt (Flemington, N.J.) in a time of 27:11.9, sophomore Chris Foster (Severna Park, Md.) in a time of 27:22.6, Kyle Berseth in a time of 27:40.6 and junior Andy Roth (Jackson, N.J.) ran a time of 27:55.8.
