UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - GoPSUsports.com talked with the four Nittany Lion cross country captains as they prepare to lead their teams to Regionals, held on their home Blue and White Golf Courses this Saturday at noon.

Here are the questions asked, and the captain's answers about their team, the season, and the upcoming race.

Chris Cipro

Chris Cipro Answers:

What is your favorite pre-match meal?
"My favorite pre-match meal is spaghetti and meatballs the night before."

Why do you love cross country?
"I love cross country because it is one of the only sports where I get to go head to head with someone and see who is better at the end of the race."

Which meet was your favorite this year?
"Penn State National because we had a lot of alumni come up for the meet, and we ran well on our home course."

What do you think about being able to run the NCAA Regionals on your home course?
"It is an advantage being able to run Regionals on our home course because we know our course better than any other team and we will have home crowd advantage."

What was your proudest moment for the team?
"The invitational at Notre Dame, because after that race we knew that we had a really good team, and that we were capable of accomplishing great things."

Does the team have any quirky traditions? If so what?
"I have to get knocked down by Owen Dawson during our "pre-meet" run, the day before the race."

If you could say one thing about Coach Beth Sullivan it would be - what?
"Motivational."

One thing you would tell your teammates is what?
"Rusty Boots and ..."

How do you and your teammates exemplify Penn State pride?
"We take pride in putting on the "Penn State" jersey, and every meet just going out and running as best as we possibly can."

What makes the Nittany Lions special compared to competing teams?
"We are able to joke around and stay loose before big meets, yet still be focused. I think when you look around at a lot of other teams a lot of them seem to be a little more serious. I think us being able to say relaxed and together as a team really makes us a special team compared to other teams and past teams that I have been on."

Kara Millhouse

Kara Millhouse Answers:

What is your favorite pre-match meal?
"I usually like to have some kind of pasta dish the night before races!"

Why do you love cross country?
"I love cross country because it is such a simple sport. The fastest runner on the day of the race is the one who will win. There are no officials or judges calling penalties, or fouls that influence the outcome of the competition."

Which meet was your favorite this year?
"I really enjoyed our meet at Notre Dame this year. Both teams did really well and that just made it a fun trip."

What do you think about being able to run the NCAA Regionals on your home course?
"I love running on our home course! I am so excited and the rest of the team is as well. It is a huge advantage for us to know the course and be able to compete at home!"

What was your proudest moment for the team?
"I've been so proud of the team's ability to stick together and stay motivated this entire season. Everyone has raced with purpose this entire season, and hasn't been put down by a bad race or workout."

Does the team have any quirky traditions? If so what?
"We try to keep things fun! Before Big Tens, we always have theme days where we dress up in different crazy ways the week before the meet."

If you could say one thing about Coach Beth Sullivan it would be - what?
"She wants us to be as successful as we can be, but she knows that having fun is a huge part of that too!"

One thing you would tell your teammates is what?
"I would tell them that there are only so many opportunities in your life to do the things you want to do, so take every opportunity and make the most of it."

How do you and your teammates exemplify Penn State pride?
"They are all such nice and respectful people. I believe that representing Penn State in competition and exemplifying integrity outside of competition settings shows their Penn State pride."
