STATE COLLEGE, PA., NOV. 10. 2003- The No. 17 ranked Penn State women¡¯s cross country team will compete in the final race before the NCAA Championships this weekend. The NCAA Region II Championships are being hosted by Bucknell University and ran on Lock Haven University¡¯s West Branch Cross Country Course.
Four other nationally ranked teams will also be featured in the competition field. The No. 14 ranked Princeton Tigers finished fifth last year and the No. 17 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions finished third in 2002.
Junior Molly Landreth goes into the race as Penn State¡¯s top runner coming off a fourth place finish and All-Big Ten first team selection at the Big Ten Championships Nov 2. Landreth was chosen as Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week twice by the conference this season and won the Penn State Spiked Shoe.
