Penn State Men's Cross Country Team Finishes Ninth at the Big Ten Championships

Iowa City, Iowa. Oct. 31, 2004- The Penn State men's cross country team finished ninth today at the Big Ten Championships, which was hosted by the University of Iowa. The men compiled a total of 206 points. Wisconsin finished first with 23 points, Indiana finished second with 104 points and Iowa finished third with 110 points.

All-Big Ten sophomore Dan Mazzocco (Pittsburgh, Pa.) placed 20th with a time of 24:50. Senior Christopher Foster (Severna Park, Md.) finished 26th with a time of 25:01 and senior Joel Moceri (Reading, Pa.) finished 44th with a time of 25:25.

Rounding out the other top seven spots for Penn State were freshman Michael Syrnick (Philadelphia, Pa.) who finished 67th (26:12), freshman Oskar Nordenbring (Bloomfield, N.J.) who finished 68th (26:18), freshman Brian Fuller (Camp Hill, Pa.) who finished 70th (26:21) and junior Matt Lincoln (Toronto, Canada) who finished 73rd (26:45).

Next up for the men's team is the NCAA Region II Championships on Nov. 13, which will be held at Penn State. The meet is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
