Penn State's Landreth earns second Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor

STATE COLLEGE, PA., OCT. 24, 2003- Penn State junior Molly Landreth (Newburyport, Mass.) was named Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second time this season by the conference office following her record breaking time on the Penn State Blue/White Course at the Penn State National on Oct. 18. Landreth finished the 6K race in a time of 20:30.25 taking third place out of 225 runners.

Landreth led the Nittany Lions to a third place overall team finish in a field of competition that featured five top 30 ranked teams. An All-American in track and field, she has led Penn State in every cross country race this season.

Landreth and the Lady Lions are back in action on Nov. 2 for the much-anticipated Big Ten Championships hosted by Michigan State University.
