The Penn State women's cross country team took on some of the nation's toughest competition, including 16 teams ranked in the Top 25, Saturday in Ames, Iowa, at the Pre National meet. Penn State finished 44th out of the 56 team field in a meet that was won by No. 3 ranked Brigham Young which edged No. 1 Stanford for the team title. Penn State was led by senior Susanne Heyer who finished 92nd in a time of 22:31.2. She was followed by senior Shelley Brand who crossed number 218 with a time 23:47.3
