First Place Finish for the Penn State Men¡¯s Cross Country Team at Red Flash Invitational

LORETTO, PA., Oct. 2, 2004 - The Penn State men¡¯s cross country finished first at the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by Saint Francis University. The men scored a total of 17 points and competed against four teams.

Freshman Teddy Quinn (Rush, N.Y.) finished first with a time of 26:40. Freshman Mike Syrnick (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished second (26:49) and junior Ian McCann (West Chester, Pa.) finished third (26:52).

The other top seven finishers for the men, were Patrick Murphy who finished fifth (27:07), junior Ryan McGarry (Irvine, Cal.) who finished sixth (27:27), junior Kyle Berseth (Bear, Del.) who finished seventh (27:41) and Ben Neibel came in ninth (27:44).

Next up for the men¡¯s cross country team is the Penn State National meet on Oct. 16. The meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
