State College, Pa. ¨C October 1, 2005 ¨C The Penn State Nittany Lion men¡¯s cross country team finished 8th in the 44 team Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University today. The Nittany Lions had two runners in the top 20 of a field featuring nearly 300 runners. Junior Dan Mazzocco (Pittsburgh, Pa.) paced Penn State with a 15th place finish in a time of 24:22. Sophomore Oskar Nordenbring (Bloomfield, N.J.) was close behind in 18th place with a time of 24:24. The twosome helped Penn State post a score of 291. Georgetown won the race with a superb 123, having all six of its scoring runners finish in the top 50. Ryan Sheehan of St. Francis, Pa., won the race in 23:53. Senior Matt Lincoln (Toronto, Canada) was Penn State¡¯s next best runner, finishing in 71st place with a time of 25:01. John Iannacone (Havertown, Pa.) was 74th in 25:03 while Senior Sean Kennedy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was 113th with a time of 25:23. Sophomore Teddy Quinn (Rush, N.Y.) rounded out Penn State¡¯s scorers with a 151st place finish in 25:44. Head Coach Harry Groves and his Penn State squad will be idle next weekend as they prepare to host the Penn State National on Saturday, October 15, at 10:45 a.m.
