Penn State Men's Cross Country Team Places 14th at the Notre Dame Cross Country Invite

NOTRE DAME, Ind., Oct. 1, 2004 - The Penn State men's cross country team took 14th place today at the Notre Dame Cross Country Invite where over 24 teams competed. The men scored a total of 406 points. They were led 34 points by Missouri, who had a total of 372 points. Stanford won the race, with Notre Dame and Butler taking second and third place respectively.

Senior Chris Foster (Severna Park, Pa.) finished 32nd with a time of 24:22. Senior Joel Moceri (Reading, Pa.) finished 72nd (24:53) and sophomore Dan Mazzocco (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished 81st (25:01).

Rounding out the top seven times for Penn State, were freshman Brian Fuller (Camp Hill, Pa.) who finished 125th with a time of 25:34; freshman Oscar Nordenbring (Bloomfield, N.J.) who finished 127th with a time of 25:34; senior Matt Lincoln (Toronto, Canada) who finished 135th with a time of 25:45; and junior Chris Nirschel (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished 170th out of 193 places with a time of 26:24.

Next up for the men's team is the Saint Frances Invitational on October 2. The meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
