Haymarket, Va., Sept. 21, 2002 - The Penn State men's cross country team posted a perfect score of 15 Saturday at the James Madison Invitational at New Market Battlefield, Va., as the Nittany Lions dominated an eight team field for their first victory of the season.

The Lion's posted the minimum score as all five scorers crossed the line before any other team's scorer finished. Sophomore Chris Foster (Severna Park, Md.) led the pack finishing second in the race in a time of 25:24.66. John McMillian won the race at 25:15.54, but was running unattached and did not score for a team.

Senior Michael Enwright (Jamison, Pa.) was second across the line for Penn State finishing third in 25:33.73. He was followed by junior Scott Munro (South Park, Pa.) in 25:34.50, freshman Dorian McDonald (Bethlehem, Pa.) in 25:38.83, and sophomore Joel Moceri (Reading, Pa.) in 25:46.49, finishing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, on the eight-kilometer course. Penn State's scorers all finished within 22 seconds of each other on the day.

Host James Madison was a distant second in the competition with a score of 52 followed by Lynchburg College, 86, and Virginia Military Institute, 105.

Penn State will split its squad next weekend as part of the team will head to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Invitational and the other half will head to Bull Run-Centreville, Pa. for the George Washington Invitational.
