USTFCCCA Men's Rankings
NEW ORLEANS, LA — With the NCAA cross country season officially starting Thursday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released the Preseason Regional Rankings for each of the nine regions in NCAA Division I.
The men of Penn State checked in at No. 4 in the Preseason Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings behind Georgetown, Penn University and Princeton.
On the women’s side there wasn’t much change at the top of the rankings from how the teams finished in Princeton, New Jersey last November. Penn State, the 2015 Mid-Atlantic champion, remains on top ahead of runner-up Georgetown. The Nittany Lions added three prized recruits and are set to host this year’s Mid-Atlantic Regional November 11th in University Park, Pa.
Penn State's women's cross country team captured the second Big Ten championship in program history topping then-No. 2 Michigan in Chicago, Ill. 53-58 - the fourth-smallest margin of victory in Big Ten women's cross country championship history.
The Preseason National Coaches’ Polls will be announced in a live video stream Tuesday afternoon on USTFCCCA.org.
Penn State will officially open their season Friday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. in Lock Haven at the Dolan Duals.
