Penn State Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Announce Schedules
State College, Pa., August, 6, 2003 - The Penn State Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams will start the season at home on the Penn State Blue/White Course as they host the Spike Shoe Meet, Sept. 13. Both teams released schedules highlighted by a pair of home dates Wednesday. The women's team led by Head Coach Beth Alford-Sullivan, in her fifth season at Penn State, will get the season started at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Spiked Shoe Meet. The men's team led by Head Coach Harry Groves, in his 36th season at Penn State, will follow at 10:45 a.m. The two teams will also host one other home meet on the season as the Penn State National will be run at the Blue/White Course on Oct. 18. The women will travel to the Elizabethtown Invitational (Sept. 20), Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. (Sept. 27), Adidas Notre Dame Invitational (Oct. 3) and the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa. (Oct. 4). The men's schedule also includes trips to the Lock Haven Invitational (Sept. 27), Adidas Notre Dame Invitational (Oct. 3), the Paul Short Invitational (Oct. 4) and the IC4A Championships at Van Cortland Park, N.Y. (Nov. 22). Both teams will compete in the Big Ten Championships hosted by Michigan State (Nov. 2) and the NCAA Regiona II Championships at Lock Haven, Pa. (Nov. 15).
