University Park, Pa., July 24, 2006 - The Penn State men's and women's cross country teams announced their 2006 schedules today, a lineup that includes two home meets for both squads and a pair of invitational meets.

The women kick off on September 16 with a meet at Lock Haven, while the men will open at home on September 23 with the Spiked Shoe Invitational. The teams will then travel to Minnesota and Lehigh, Pa., respectively, for the weekend of September 30 before returning for the Penn State National. The Big Ten Championships, scheduled for October 29, will be hosted by Indiana University. The NCAA Regional Meet will take place on November 11, followed by the Championship meets on November 20.
