On the Course ... || 2012 Cross Country || Finished 24th in the "Open" Race at the Greater Louisville Classic, clocking 25:30 for 8K. || 2011 Cross Country || Competed unattached during the 2011 campaign, finishing 15th overall at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational.

Before Penn State ... || High School || Burkhardt captured gold-medal honors at the PIAA State Outdoor Championships this spring, winning the 3200-meters with a personal-best 9:07.53 - the second-fastest time in Pennsylvania in 2011. Burkhardt also has outstanding cross country credentials on his resume, having placed 22nd at the PIAA State Championships as a junior. Burkhardt is a two-time state qualifier in outdoor track, and also made the state meet in indoor track in 2010. || Personal || Majoring in Engineering.
