Isaiah Harris and former Nittany Lion great Joe Kovacs highlighted the final day of the USATF Championships as they punched their tickets to London in the 800-meters and shot put, respectively, at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State.

Harris in only his sophomore season in the Blue & White has put together a spectacular first two years and today was just another chapter in what is becoming a storied career.

Harris opened the first lap of the 800-meters in 51.87 and continued to put the hammer down, posting a final 400-meters of 52.66 - the second-fastest final lap in the field to finish behind only Nike's Donovan Brazier who captured the USA title in 1:44.14. Harris' time of 1:44.53 is a personal best, school record and his ticket to the IAAF World Championships in London Aug. 4-13 where he will compete for the chance to be a world champion as a member of Team USA.

The second Penn Stater to qualify for the world championships Sunday afternoon was 2016 Olympic silver medalist Joe Kovacs. Kovacs will represent Team USA in the shot put after posting a mark of 73'-4" (22.35m) on his sixth and final throw of the competition finishing second behind the reigning Olympic gold medalist Ryan Crouser who won the US title with his throw of 74'-3.75" (22.65m).

Also competing in the shot put final was Darrell Hill (Penn State '15) who finished the competition in fourth-place earning a spot on Team USA in the event. Hill finished with a best of 67'-7" (20.60m).

Malik Moffett competed in the second of his two events Sunday as he took to the runway for long jump. Moffett posted a mark of 25'-0.75" (7.64m) to take 14th-place.

Harris and Kovacs will compete in the IAAF World Championships in London, England Aug. 4-13 at Olympic Stadium - the host site of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
