Abington, with championship performances in Men's #3
Singles, Men's #4 Singles, Men's #2 Doubles, Women's #2 Singles and
Women's #1 Doubles out- distanced the field in a strong performance
from runner-up Penn State Harrisburg to claim the championship held at
U Park Oct 28-29. Blustery weather in State College forced
championships to be held on the indoor Penn State Club Courts. The
change in venue necessitated changing the format of play to 8 Game Pro
Sets. Abington coach, Bob Barton's team continued the dominance they
displayed throughout the season as they also won the league
championship with a 9-0 record. Congratulations to Coach Barton, the
Abington Team, all competitors and special thanks to tournament
director Allen Smith for his help in his help with the championship.
