The Varsity `S' Club is partnering with former football player and talented artist, Matthew Rice to bring you his collection of paintings and prints, which will be on display (and for sale) at the Varsity `S' Club tent during the Varsity `S' Club social prior to the Illinois football game. Penn State fans and art connoisseurs alike can get a preview of his collected works by going to www.mateoblu.com . Varsity S Tickets for this game are no longer available as our members again were quick to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase tickets for this early Big Ten heavyweight matchup. We look forward to a great evening of football and Penn State camaraderie.

Soccer Alumnae- Make sure your contact information is correct with the Soccer office and then look in the mailbox for information on a soccer homecoming for the Wisconsin game on October 5th. This is different from the originally posted date of September 21 against Notre Dame.

Women's Volleyball will hold an alumnae day on November 1 vs. Iowa. This is a change from the originally posted date of October 18th, although if you are in town for homecoming you are, of course, still welcome to come home to Rec Hall.

Information for the upcoming Varsity S day, including ticket applications for the September 27th football game vs. Illinois will be arriving very shortly in the mail to our Varsity S members, which includes all former University Park varsity athletes, managers, cheerleaders, dance team members, and mascots. For questions call (814) 867-2202 or send an email to VarsityS@athletics.psu.edu. Any mention of the Iowa game in the Varsity S Day information should be ignored. Varsity S Day remains vs. Illinois on September 27.

Again, each Varsity S Club member will receive the opportunity to purchase 2 tickets for the Illinois football game (Illinois went to the Rose Bowl last year). All tickets must be picked up on the day of the game at the Varsity S Tent. We make no bones about it, we want you to come back and congregate with other former athletes. If you choose not to take advantage of this benefit and prefer to purchase tickets that can be mailed to you, http://www.ticketexchange.com. is Penn State's authorized reseller of tickets and tickets may be purchased there IF they are made available by season ticket holders. We sold out of our allotment of tickets last year and were able to secure some extra tickets thanks to Bud Meredith and the ticket office. We had a great time last year and again we will be serving light snacks and drinks approximately three hours prior to the game. Get your applications in early! We will respond to all ticket requests by mailing out a confirmation letter indicating whether or not we were able to accommodate your request. At the same time, parking passes will also be mailed if you ordered one.

The Varsity S Club will also be co-sponsoring the following alumni days in the fall:
September 12-14: Tennis Alumni Weekend (Contact Todd Doebler at 814-863-3487)
September 21 Women's Soccer vs. Notre Dame (Contact Ann Cook at 814-863-0842)
September 27- Varsity S Day for all athletes at the Illinois Football game
October 10-11- Men's and women's swimming and diving (come meet new coach John Hargis)
October 11- Men's Soccer Alumni Day (Contact Ryan Defibaugh at 814-863-7478)
October 11- Baseball Alumni Game (Contact 814-867-2202)
October 18- Women's volleyball vs. Michigan
October 23- Field Hockey vs. Indiana, honoring the 1997 and 1998 Big Ten Conference Championship Teams

On October 11th, Men's and women's swimming and diving, men's soccer, and baseball will congregate at Lubrano Park to have a barbeque tailgate and watch the Penn State football game vs. Wisconsin on the Jumbotron. More information will be arriving in your mailbox shortly. This is going to be a great night of Nittany Lion camaraderie and fellowship, so make plans to come up for that weekend! Information about these three alumni weekends will be mailed out to you soon.
