UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. -
The renewal deadline for Nittany Lion Club members is fast approaching. Those NLC members that renew online before or on Saturday, February 1 will receive three (3) points for their donation. Members must renew by February 1, 2014 in order to maintain football ticket and parking benefits.
The mission of the Nittany Lion Club is to provide annual scholarship support to Penn State University student-athletes and to develop private support for capital projects, endowments, and other needs as prioritized by Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics.
New this year, the NLC would like members to consider participating in the 110% Program. Our Penn State student-athletes have vowed to give 110% in the classroom and in competition. The NLC respectfully asks that members consider giving an extra $110 for 2014 based on their 2013 annual contribution to help continue to foster the success of our student-athletes, teams and programs at Penn State. Three (3) NLC points (2 points=$100) and a special recognition gift will be sent to those who participate.
The Nittany Lion Club needs your support because Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is truly a self-sustaining athletic department, therefore intercollegiate athletics does not receive any state or university funding for annual operating expenses. Your contribution to the Nittany Lion Club directly supports grant-in-aid, operational support along with academic and medical support for our 800 plus student-athletes. Private support is essential as it enables Penn State to provide student-athletes with the best possible experience and the resources they need to succeed athletically and academically. The continued financial stability will allow us to maintain the tradition of academic and athletic excellence for our entire 31 sport programs.
