Fencing Set for Notre Dame Invitational This Weekend

Jan. 27, 2016

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State fencing team will head to Notre Dame this weekend in lieu of last Saturday’s cancelled duel at St. John’s. The Red Storm was forced to call off the match set for Jan. 23 after Winter Storm Jonas caused a reported 26.8-inch snowfall in the New York City-area.

The change of plans gives the Nittany Lions the opportunity to compete against some opponents they do not typically face. Penn State will face Big Ten rival Ohio State Saturday evening, followed by Notre Dame, Stanford, California Institute of Technology, Air Force Academy, University of California San Diego, Cleveland State (men only) and Northwestern (women only) throughout the day Sunday.
