UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Senior placekicker Kevin Kelly (Langhorne, Pa.) and junior forward Katie Schoepfer (Waterford, Conn.) have been named this week's Penn State Student-Athletes of the Week. In the Nittany Lions' win over Michigan, Kelly became the Big Ten's All-Time Kick Scoring leader, while Schoepfer moved Penn State two wins closer to capturing an 11th-straight Big Ten women's soccer title.

Kelly earned Big Ten Specialist of the Week Accolades after becoming the Big Ten Conference's all-time kick scoring leader in Saturday's 46-17 thumping of Michigan. The senior connected on three of four field goal attempts and all five of his PAT kicks. During the momentum-changing third quarter against the Wolverines, Kelly connected on a 32-yard field goal to tie the game at 17-17. Following Jared Odrick's tie-breaking sack in the end zone for a safety, Kelly's PAT after Daryll Clark's one-yard touchdown run lifted him into the lead in Big Ten kick scoring with 368

points. Kelly made two more field goals and two more PAT kicks to finish the game with 376 career kicking points, breaking the conference mark of 367 by Minnesota's Dan Nystrom and Iowa's Nate Kaeding. Kelly also averaged 67.2 yards on his nine kickoffs. The former Neshaminy High School standout also is in range of the Big Ten career field goals record. Kelly has 70 career field goals, trailing only Ohio State's Mike Nugent (72) and Nystrom (71).

Schoepfer had another great week for the Nittany Lions piloting the offensive attack to two more Big Ten victories as the team settled into first place. In the 2-0 win over Minnesota she assisted both goals and scored the lone goal 30 seconds into overtime for the 1-0 decision over Iowa. For her efforts this past week, Schoepfer earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and also earned national honors landing on Soccer America's Team of the Week. The junior now leads the team with nine goals and five assists (23 points). Schoepfer is tearing it up in Big Ten play, tallying five goals and two assists through seven Big Ten matches.
