Six Teams Featured on Thursday's Penn State Day on BTN

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Big Ten Network will celebrate some of Penn State's most exciting moments by airing 24 consecutive hours of Nittany Lion programming for the second time this summer on Thursday, July 24.

The second Penn State Day this summer features the wrestling, men's and women's basketball, football, women's volleyball and men's ice hockey programs. Programming begins at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday and concludes Friday at 6:00 a.m. Penn State Day opens at 6:00 a.m. with the 2014 Big Ten Wrestling Championships. The Nittany Lions captured their fourth consecutive conference crown en route to their fourth straight NCAA Wrestling Championship.

Another 2014 Big Ten Championship-winning team is featured at 8:00 a.m. The Lady Lion basketball team's 77-62 win over Michigan that clinched the program's third-straight Big Ten regular season title airs at 8 a.m.

The first of five classic football games will debut at 10:00 a.m. with Penn State's 37-30 win over No. 9 Boston College in 1984.

At noon, BTN will feature the Nittany Lion basketball team's thrilling 65-63 win over No. 2 Michigan State in the 2001 Big Ten Tournament.

"Hockey Valley: The Opening of The Pegula Ice Arena," the award-winning documentary on the opening of the Pegula Ice Arena, airs at 2:00 p.m.

A pair of thrilling football games follows the documentary. At 3:00 p.m., the Nittany Lions' 1985 win over Alabama en route to an undefeated season will air. The 2013 squad's 31-24 victory at No. 14 Wisconsin will be shown at 5:00 p.m.

The Penn State women's volleyball team secured its sixth NCAA national championship in 2013. Watch the exciting championship match versus Wisconsin at 7:00 p.m.

At 9:00 p.m., the 2013-14 men's basketball team is featured with their thrilling 65-63 Senior Night triumph over No. 22 Ohio State to complete the season sweep.

Re-live the Nittany Lions' three Rose Bowl Appearances at 10:30 p.m. before the 2013 Nittany Lions' comeback victory over No. 24 Northwestern on Homecoming at 11:00 p.m.

Another come-from-behind win starts at 1:00 a.m. with the Nittany Lion basketball team's dramatic 64-63 triumph over No. 23 Illinois in 2009.

The second of the Penn State football team's overtime wins in 2013, a 24-17 victory over Illinois, airs at 3:00 a.m.

Penn State Day concludes at 4:00 a.m. with the men's hockey team's 2013-14 season opener and first game at Pegula Ice Arena, a 4-1 win over Army.

BTN is available to more than 90 million homes through agreements with more than 300 cable, satellite and telco providers in all 50 states and Canada. Adams and Blue Ridge Cable in Pennsylvania, though, do not carry the Big Ten Network. The network also is not available to Armstrong Cable customers in western Pennsylvania and the Medina and Youngstown, Ohio areas. A combined total of more than 35,000 Penn State alumni live in communities served by the three cable providers, in addition to thousands more fans and current Penn State students.
