Penn State All-Sports Museum Welcomes Cole Cullen
April 2, 2009 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - Every year 200 hopeful Pennsylvania musicians audition for the Penn State Marching Blue Band and less than half make it. High school musicians across Pennsylvania dream of one day marching into Penn State's Beaver Stadium before a crowd of 107,000 screaming fans. Making the Blue Band, the documentary, follows eight incoming freshmen through auditions, cuts and the grueling days of band camp with the Penn State Blue Band. This one-hour documentary features students from across Pennsylvania as they audition for spots on trombone, trumpet, percussion, mellophone, clarinet, drum major, color guard and majorette. Join the Penn State All-Sports Museum on Friday April 10th at the Clemens Family Theater inside the Penn State All-Sports Museum as they welcome Co-Producer/Director Cole Cullen as he discusses the "behind the scenes" features of the documentary. Join us as Cullen discusses his experiences of making a documentary film and what it takes to make the Blue Band. Cullen was member of the Blue Band Drumline from 1992-1996 and Blue Band videographer in 1997, Cullen has produced a number of Blue Band video yearbooks including Raise the Song, a documentary following the 100 years of the Blue Band's history. Also look for the film presentation of Making the Blue Band, playing the entire month of April at the Clemens Family Theater inside the Penn State All-Sports Museum. |
