UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., January 12, 2006- The Penn State All-Sports Museum will have new operating hours starting Friday, January 13 and for the next two months.

Museum Director Lou Prato announced that the museum and gift shop will be open on Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. through the end of Penn State's spring break, which concludes March 12.

The museum will be closed Monday through Thursday during the next two months and resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, March 14.

The museum's cumulative visitor total has surpassed 123,000.

The museum honors the student-athletes and coaches through history who have helped Penn State's intercollegiate athletic program emerge and remain one of the nation's best. Exhibits highlight the success of 32 varsity men's and women's sports, including three that no longer have varsity status - Boxing, bowling and rifle.

The musuem is located in the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium adjacent to the museum gift shop operated by the Penn State Book Store. A canopy leading from Curtin Road marks the museum entrance.

There are two floors of exhibition space in the 10,000 square foot facility, with indoor sports occupying the second floor and outdoor sports on the first floor.

Visitors can park at the parking meters in the lot directly across Curtin Road from the museum entrance and the parking meters located in the Founder's Lot on the East side of the Bryce Jordan Center.
