Gymnastics Overnight Camp, June 28-30

The Penn State Girls Gymnastics Overnight Camp is designed for gymnasts ages 8-18 of all skill levels looking to enhance their ability and fully engage in the Penn State environment while staying in our university residence halls.

ELIGIBILITY
Overnight Campers (resident)
Minimum 8 years of age (Must be 8 before July 1, 2018)

The Penn State Girls Gymnastics Overnight Camp is designed to provide a full gymnastic experience at Penn State. Emphasis is placed on skill development in all four Olympic events (vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise). Training is enhanced by the use of our new trampoline stations to teach air awareness and drills. Additionally, we will utilize our dance rooms to practice leaps, jumps, turns and fun, upbeat choreography! Campers will have exclusive use of our updated state-of-the-art training facility, fully equipped with AAI equipment, foam and Resi-Pits, Tumble Trak, rod floor and much more.

Enrollment is limited to 100 gymnasts to ensure smaller training groups for more individual attention, so early registration is encouraged.

Who: Ages 8-18, all levels (Grades 2-12)

Fees:
• $555 resident
(includes instruction, housing, meals, a camp shirt)
$500 commuter (includes instruction, all meals, a camp shirt, no housing)

Total Fees:
Resident Camper Fee:
$555 plus Transaction Fee $25 = $580 total fee
Commuter Camper Fee: $500 plus Transaction Fee $20 = $520 total fee

Meals: Lunch on the first day to lunch on the last day

***We do recommend that each camper bring spending money for the bookstore and/or snacks. However, campers are responsible for securing and handling their own cash. Penn State will not be responsible for lost or stolen articles.


High Performance Day Camp, July 1-3

The Penn State High Performance Day Camp is open to gymnasts entering grades 7-12 next fall. This camp is a commuter camp only.

This physically challenging and competitive day camp is specifically designed for more advanced gymnasts who are serious about raising their skills in preparation for collegiate gymnastics. Campers will have exclusive use of our updated state-of-the-art training facility, fully equipped with AAI equipment, foam and Resi-Pits, Tumble Trak, rod floor and much more.

Enrollment is limited to 80 gymnasts to ensure for smaller training groups for more individual attention, so early registration is encouraged.

Under the direction of Head Coach Sarah Brown and the entire Penn State gymnastics staff, the main focus of the High Performance Day Camp is placed on the four Olympic events and will include a campus tour. Campers will have the opportunity to learn from current members of the Penn State Men's and Women's Gymnastics programs, as well as the opportunity to eat on campus in the dining commons just like a student-athlete at Penn State University. Come experience what it is like to be a college gymnast for three days. Campers will have an excellent opportunity to showcase their abilities and be permitted open gym training time to focus on a specific skill or event of their choice.

Girls Gymnastics Day Camp, July 6-8

Training Facility

Nearly $2 million dollars in renovations to the White Building gymnastics gym have made the camp facility second-to-none. The gym features new AAI elite series equipment, in-ground loose foam pits, in-ground resi-pits, AAI 20 cm landing mats, three vaulting stations, four bar stations, four tumbling stations onto a variety of landing surfaces, an in-ground trampoline with overhead spotting and a loose foam pit landing area. In addition to a full complement of sting mats, four-inch throw mats and eight-inch skill cushions for every event, the new team room features a 51-inch screen television and leather furniture. There is also a dance room with wall-to-wall mirrors and a special dance floor.
