After serving six years as an assistant coach, two years as an associate head coach and two months as the interim head coach for the Nittany Lions, John Gondak was named head coach of Penn State cross country/track & field on Sept. 17, 2014. Gondak's résumé while with the Blue and White - which can be matched by few middle distance mentors in the country - includes 19 First Team All-Americans, 22 Big Ten Champions, 20 Penn State records, four Big Ten Freshman of the Year honorees, five Penn Relays victories, and three sub-4:00 milers.
Aside from his student-athletes' efforts on the track, Gondak has also had a huge impact on the Nittany Lions' success on the cross country course. Campers can come to experience the inspirational demonstrations, exercises and fun-filled competitions to enhance their own performance levels.
Thank you for considering our Penn State Track and Field Camp and Cross-Country and Distance Running Camp. To those of you who have sent a child to one of our past camps, thank you for your continued loyalty; rest assured that your child's camp experience will be every bit as rewarding. Those considering sending a child for the first time should know that the camper's safety and welfare are our top priority and that your child will receive professional instruction from a team of outstanding coaches. Again, thank you for considering Penn State for your child's Penn State Track and Field and Cross-Country Camp experience. We look forward to seeing you this summer.
