About the Camp

The Penn State Track and Field Day Camps are designed for boys and girls ages 10 to 18. Parents are welcome to observe at no charge. The focus of these camps is to teach the basic fundamentals of running, jumping, and throwing techniques, as well as basic plyometrics and drills that are typically used in track and field training. Participants may choose one or more disciplines including sprints, hurdles, relays, middle distance, jumps (high, long, and triple jump), and throws (shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin). If you would like to participate in more than one event group, please provide an order of preference.

What to Bring

Participants should arrive in proper workout gear (including sneakers/tennis shoes) and be prepared for activity. Bringing your own track and field spikes, or event-specific footwear (i.e., throwing shoes, racing flats) is encouraged but not required.

Participants are also encouraged to bring their own INDOOR field event implements; however, indoor field event implements are available if needed.

There will be a brief break approximately halfway through the camp. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack (power bar, etc.) to stay energized. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. Water stations will be available throughout the facility.
