Coaching Staff

The Penn State Rugby Camp features the coaching staffs of both of the University's nationally ranked teams and takes great pride in the program's ability to consistently attract other top coaches and instructors from the nation's best teams and elite programs to fully serve the needs of the campers.

Kate Daley

Kate Daley is the head coach of the 11-time 15s National Champions Penn State women's rugby team. Daley also serves as an assistant coach for the USA U20 women's National team focusing on backs and defense and an assistant coach for the Northeast Rugby Olympic Development Academy focusing on 7s. A member of the PSU team from 2004 to 2009, Daley competed in 5 National Championship games, winning 2 and receiving MVP honors for both wins. Daley is a 4-time All-American and USA National team player. Most recently, she has served as the captain of the USA Rugby women's national team in the 2014 World Cup.

James Willocks

Penn State has selected James Willocks as head coach of the men's rugby program. Willocks comes to Penn State after serving the past four years at Dartmouth College, where he was assistant coach and the team's strength and conditioning coach. He also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Big Green football program the past three years.

A native of Balclutha, on the South Island of New Zealand, Willocks helped the Dartmouth Rugby Football Club win four Ivy League XV and 7s Championships, become a Div. I-AA finalist and the U.S. Rugby 7s bowl champions. A graduate of New Zealand's University of Otago, Willocks earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in exercise & sports science and exercise prescription. He has served as an intern for the Otago ITM Cup rugby team in New Zealand, where he also played Premier Level rugby for the Alhambra Union Rugby Club.

Willocks serves as an assistant coach with USA Rugby's Men's Collegiate All American team, and will tour Australia with the squad this August. He previously served as a strength and conditioning and skills coach with the squad.
