Competitive Players & Developmental Camps

June 25-29 or July 9-13

The Penn State Competitive Players and Developmental Camps are geared for students entering grades 5-12. These camps are designed to assist junior players with the necessary fundamentals to raise their level of competence from the level they currently compete. We will address preparation for tournament golf, as well as develop the skills necessary to play at the next level. These camps are also excellent for those who are still developing their games on all levels and will be tailored to individual abilities and needs. The Penn State Golf Camp is designed to accommodate golfers of different ages and skill levels. Campers will be placed into separate groups based on age and experience. Each group will be assigned two instructors.

A major goal of the camp is to help players transfer their improved swings to the golf course and play an improved game. Presentations of specific course management skills and proper practice habits are designed to enhance the performance of the players. The total camp experience provides campers with a learning environment suitable for all skill levels. Lectures, demonstrations, drill sessions and playing time are offered daily. In the event of inclement weather, lectures, videos and other activities will be moved indoors.

During the camp, 18 or 9 holes of golf will be played each day, depending on the skill level of each camper. Instruction will include course management, strategies, self-management skill for optimal performance, short game skills and full swing awareness. Collegiate golf preparation will also be addressed.
