Who Should AttendThe Penn State Competitive Diving Camps are open to students entering grades 6-12 next fall. It is preferred, but not required, that divers have a year of competitive diving experience as the camps are not "learn-to-dive" camps. High school graduates are also eligible to enroll.
The Penn State Competitive Diving Camp participants engage in an intensive daily routine consisting of two two-hour springboard workouts and one two-hour physical activity session. Emphasis is on proper stretching, physical conditioning, springboard mechanics and developing a healthy perspective on the competitive nature of the sport. Platform diving is introduced to all campers. Those who are qualified to train in the event will be able to work at their comfort level.
