UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Nittany Lion football team may be one week away from opening official practice, but several members of the squad have been busy over the summer at internships.

In all, seven Nittany Lions worked at internships locally in State College pertaining to their academic path at Penn State.  The list includes seniors Alex Butterworth, Glenn Carson, Adam Gress, DaQuan Jones, Brandon Moseby-Felder and Stephen Obeng-Agyapong and junior Jesse Della Valle.

Punter Alex Butterworth, a recreation, parks and tourism management major, worked with the State College YMCA at youth camps this summer.  Tackle Adam Gress, who graduated in May of 2013 with a degree in telecommunications, worked with local radio station B94.5.  A criminology major, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones interned with the Spring Township Police Department in Bellefonte, Pa., where he was hands-on with members of the police force.  Wide receiver Brandon Moseby-Felder, who is a journalism major, worked for Penn State Athletics Customer Relations, 1-800-NITTANY.  Safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong, who recently graduated with a degree in information sciences and technology, was employed with the IT department with the State College Borough office.

Linebacker Glenn Carson, who has a degree in advertising, and safety Jesse Della Valle, who is an advertising/public relations major, both worked for the State College Spikes (NY-Penn League A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals) in gameday marketing.

GoPSUsports.com followed Carson and Della Valle during a gameday at the Spikes earlier this summer.  Take a look at a feature on the marketing interns and how the internship helps prepare them for a career after football.
