UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -
The four-time defending national champion Penn State women's volleyball team
welcomes five additions to the roster for the 2011 campaign.
As the calendar inches
closer to the season-opener, GoPSUsports.com wanted to take the opportunity to
introduce the Nittany Lion fans to the newcomers. We caught up with all five freshmen inside
Rec Hall for video interviews. This
week, GoPSUsports.com will feature one interview per day to get you ready for
the season.
We continue our
introduction of the Nittany Lion freshmen with Nia Grant. The Warren, Ohio, native was a three-year
letterwinner and team captain at Howland High School. Grant was named the District
I Volleyball Player of the Year, named MVP and picked up District I Division I
First Team honors as a junior. She was
also a four-year letterwinner in track.
Grant has one brother (A.J.) and one sister (Faith). Her father, African, played football for the
Miami Dolphins. Grant plans on majoring
in nursing.
Meet Nia Grant.
